Wool & Embroidery Workshop - Saturday 11th September 2021.
Experimenting with scraps of material, thread, wool and wool felt. We will be using a range of embroidery stitches and different thicknesses of threads, trying lots of stitches, and learning how to create different edges/textures just by changing the size of the stitch or style of thread.
General sewing kit including embroidery needles, scraps of fabric, wool felt and piece of wool to stitch on to.
Kits will also be available for £5 on the day with everything you need for the workshop
Rope Baskets - Saturday 16th October
Using a Cotton washing line, selvedge edges or lengths of scrap fabric, wool or perle thread we will make a basket or table mats and coasters if you prefer. These make lovely gifts and can be as bright or as subtle as you like. My original pattern is made using a sewing machine but this time we will use thread and hand stitching
Cotton washing line, lengths of scrap fabric, contrasting ball of wall (double knit)
Christmas Workshop - Saturday 20th November
Range of decorations for the tree, wall hanging, cushions and table runner - pictures to follow shortly
Sewing Bee Dates
Now have dates for the Sewing Bees at West Buckland Hall, between Wellington and Taunton, Somerset - something to look forward to. A Sewing Bee is where people who love patchwork and quilting, or sewing generally, meet and spend the day working on their own projects either by hand or using a machine. Although not a teaching day there is a wealth of knowledge (and positive opinions) in the room. Start at 10am through to 4pm and always on a Saturday.
